I've come across a filesystem where there's a maximum filename length. It would be convenient to have EasyTAG rename files according to the specified pattern but make sure the filename is no longer than N characters.

This is a duplicate of your existing bug. The patch posted there could be resurrected as a quick fix, but a comprehensive solution is complicated.
