Description Patrick 2016-06-04 04:51:36 UTC
Every time I try to choose a icon to a folder, through the properties window, Nautilus freezes right after the "select custom icon" dialog opens.

Could this be any related to the issue in that comment?

Yes, it's the same problem.
Comment 3 Ernestas Kulik 2016-06-04 12:50:08 UTC
This has been fixed in master[1], but due to how it was originally reported, I can’t really mark this bug as a duplicate.

Is it correct that there are no plans for a 3.20.3 release? The issue is still present in Nautilus 3.20.2 (up-to-date Fedora 24 stack, GNOME Wayland) - seems that the patch was just too late for that release.

For a workaround in the meantime for anyone looking, see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=753394#c10

What are you talking about? The original fix has been pushed and is present in 3.20.2.

I will take a look at how it behaves in Wayland.

Works for me.
Comment 11 Stephen 2016-08-09 14:52:33 UTC
The patch is not present in the tarball at https://download.gnome.org/sources/nautilus/3.20/nautilus-3.20.2.tar.xz

So what are *you* talking about? ;)

I have absolutely no idea myself, apparently.

Carlos, mind jumping in?

A couple of fixes have been backported, so that cannot be correct.
Sorry for the ruckus.
Comment 14 Stephen 2016-08-09 15:28:05 UTC
No worries, hehe.

Re. 3.20.3, I was going by https://mail.gnome.org/archives/devel-announce-list/2016-May/msg00001.html but of course plans can change.
Comment 15 Carlos Soriano 2016-08-09 16:49:37 UTC
As Ernestas pointed out, the tarball of 3.20.2 is somehow wrong.
A 3.20.2.1 tarball will come soon.
