GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 767097
Reorganise subcategories and remove subcategory sidebars
Last modified: 2018-01-24 17:08:08 UTC
The current subcategories aren't very good: * Some contain very few apps * Each category contains a subcategory called "other" - not useful if you are browsing a store * Some have technical names, like "OCR" or "raster graphics It would improve the experience if we therefore cleaned up the subcategories so we only show the useful ones. A proposal for how to do this is here: https://etherpad.gnome.org/p/software-categories Reorganising the subcategories also requires that we change the UI for navigating them - with fewer subcategories a sidebar isn't a good fit.
