Description laurentcgo 2016-05-16 12:58:48 UTC
Shotwell 0.22.1-1 crashed when I modified tags in old files. It now crashed immediately after launch. When launching shotwell from the terminal it posts following error message:

shotwell: tiffcomposite.cpp:749: virtual Exiv2::Internal::TiffComponent* Exiv2::Internal::TiffMnEntry::doAddPath(uint16_t, Exiv2::Internal::TiffPath&, Exiv2::Internal::TiffComponent*, Exiv2::Internal::TiffComponent::AutoPtr): Assertion `mn_' failed.
Aborted

Searching the Internet seems to suggest that the problem is similar to exiv2 problems raised in the past in relation with Casio jpg files.

Please let me know if you need any further data.

Best

Hi,

this is a bug in exiv2 library. If you are on Ubuntu xenial, an updated version is available in shotwell's ppa and a fixed version will also be uploaoded to debian.
