String question about "Format code"
Last modified: 2016-05-18 12:23:01 UTC
Hi, I am reviewing a translation of goffice and am now wondering about the string "Format c_ode:" in goffice/tree/goffice/gtk/go-format-sel.ui Is the whole of "format code" a noun, or is "format" a verb here?
One more question about a string in plugins/plot_barcol/gog-1.5d.c: "How to group multiple series, normal, stacked, as_percentage" Looking at the code, it seems to me like three alternatives to group multiple series. If that is the case, this would be made clearer for me with a colon: "How to group multiple series: normal, stacked, as_percentage"
"Format code:" is the label associated to the entry where users can type a format string, so consider it a noun. For the series, you are right, but not sure we would like to break all translations at once.
(In reply to Jean Bréfort from comment #2) > "Format code:" is the label associated to the entry where users can type a > format string, so consider it a noun. > > For the series, you are right, but not sure we would like to break all > translations at once. Thank you for the answers, I have made changes to the Swedish translation according to them. It's your call if you want to make any changes. I suppose a translator comment could be added without effecting any existing translations. I'm closing this report as I have received answers to all my questions.
