ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: gnome-color-manager 3.18.0-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-21.37-generic 4.4.6 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-21-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed Apr 27 16:52:35 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-04-26 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160420.1) SourcePackage: gnome-color-manager UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
This is what happens. GNOME Color Manager creates selectable options for all types of display kinds: (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/wily/gnome-color-manager/wily/view/head:/src/gcm-calibrate-main.c) line 1432. But Argyll will only accept display types supported by the colorimeter: (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/wily/argyll/wily/view/head:/spectro/instappsup.c) line 525. So the fix is that the GNOME Color Manager to list supported types before creating the selectable options, and latter show the supported ones exclusively.
This bug is also present in the git master.
Because it crashes the application but does not render it unusable, I am giving this bug a priority of "medium".
