Description Bastien Nocera 2016-04-13 09:41:21 UTC
See bug 764852.

We'd be supporting the "95%" case if we could disable the "disable-while-typing" option of libinput for fullscreen (override redirect?) applications like games, and Blender.

We'll also need a configuration option to disable it altogether it seems, but that's another bug.

If we disable disable-while-typing automatically when something is fullscreen we'd also disable it for full screen "distraction free" editors (for example gedit in fullscreen mode).

I know, hence the "override redirect" question.

Thats only a thing on X11. Do we really want introduce inconsistencies like that?
Comment 4 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 13:51:52 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
