Steps to reproduce:

1. Start GIMP
2. Select New from the File menu
3. Click OK
4. Resize the main window by doing the following:
   a. Place the cursor above the Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons so that the mouse pointer appears as the bidirectional arrow  (from lower left to upper right)
   b. Hold left-click and attempt to resize the window.

I observe that GIMP crashes. A "GNU Image Manipulation Program has stopped working" message appears.  Attached is another message that I received in the four times I was able to reproduce this issue.
