Description Alex Ferm 2016-03-03 17:07:54 UTC
It would be really nice, especially in the case of cellular connections to be able to log the amount of data sent over a particular connection. This feature would be very helpful for users that are running on a metered connection and would like to be able to monitor their usage in order to avoid overage charges or determine if they can drop to a lower cost coverage option.

Usage examples:
I have unlimited data with only a certain amount being "high speed". It isn't a hard limit, but I would like to know how close I am to running out of high speed data.
I manage cell connected telemetry devices for work, and would like to know if I can drop to a smaller plan, and if my attempts to reduce network usage are working.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance.
We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
