There are two different channels: #opw (older) and  #outreachy (newer). 
And both seem to have pretty much the same number of people (but not the same people). This might needlessly divide the audience of Outreachy participants and potential mentors etc. as there is no redirect.

CC'ing Marina as there's a small change that these channels somehow have different meanings (one for GNOME, one for Outreachy in general?) that I'm not aware of (but I could not find out as #opw is missing a channel topic).
