After going to "Other Locations" natilus starts the gvfsd-smb-browse process as it searches for networks. This process remains running even after Nautilus is closed and consumes 100% usage of 1 CPU core.

Thanks for your bug report. However this is not a Nautilus, nor GVfs bug. It is bug in samba. See my comments on:
