Description Egmont Koblinger 2016-02-14 19:20:43 UTC
Followup of bug 747046:

- rm doc/utmpwtmp.txt

- get rid of VTE_PTY_NO_UTMP and friends - we should've removed them from 0.38 since that broke the API anyways. We'd break the API again if we removed them, but after 1.5 years of deprecation it's probably okay. Or shall we wait until the next API/ABI incompatible change and remove the entire VtePtyFlags enum?
Comment 1 Christian Persch 2016-02-14 20:22:53 UTC
Removed the doc.

I think it's fine to leave the useless enum around until next API break (which shouldn't be too far away anyway).

:-(

Anything particular in sight?
Comment 3 Christian Persch 2016-02-15 09:52:30 UTC
Well the point of all the refactoring is making bug 103770 easier/possible, which certainly needs an API break.

Just wondering (independently of this bug):

Whenever you get to break the API again, would it make sense to fast forward the version number by an additional 0.06? I'm always getting confused which VTE belongs to which GNOME. This would synchronize the last digit.
