GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 761729
When clicking "Back" on the login screen the password box and buttons stay on top
Last modified: 2021-07-05 14:23:44 UTC
Created attachment 320651 [details] Screenshot of GDM login issue described in the bug report description This bug was present in 3.16, is present in 3.18 (what I am currently running), and is present in 3.19. And the bug is that often when I click "Back" (though you might have to try this a few times to get this to happen) I get this and have to click "Back" again to get rid of the password box and buttons which stay on top: GDM_Error_Login.png (the screenshot is of my Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 32-bit VM running GNOME 3.19) I initially filed a report on this issue here, but thought I should also do so upstream: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/1543273
And obviously when I say "GDM_Error_Login.png" I mean the attached file.
I still see this bug sometimes with GNOME 3.22
Haven't seen this bug on GNOME 3.28 and Arch.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
