Description josephbupe 2016-01-18 07:43:04 UTC
Hi,

There is a third-party script called "idPhoto" which enables printing of passport-size photos. Too bad I cannot save presets, and each time I am printing I must type in dimensions for particular ID photos again and again for every print job.

I can only imagine how useful and convenient this can be to many photo studios for printing passports/ID photos if it was implemented into GIMP by default and improved upon to allow saving presets.

idPhoto script:

The following are some of the passport size photos dimensions I could save as presets so that I don't have to time them in every time:

Some of the Passport Size Photo Dimensions:

Australia 35-40 mm x 45-50 mm,
Belgium : 35x45mm,
Brazil : 50x70mm,
Denmark : 35x45mm
Canada 3.5x 4.5 Cm,
Finland : 36×47 mm ,
France : 35x45mm ,
India 3.5 x 4.5cm
Italy : 30 x40 mm,
Netherlands : 35 x45 mm,
Norway 35 x 40 mm,
Poland : 35 x 45 mm
Russia 35 x 45mm,
Spain 30 x40 mm,
Sweden 35 x 45mm,
Turkey 35 x 45 mm
Usa 2 x 2 inches,
UK 35 x 45 mm,
Vietnam : 4 x 6 cm ( White Background)

I have seen that to print equally sized passport photos in photoshop, one would first crop the photo to the required size, then hit "F2" which will automatically generate eight photos on the image canvas.

I don't think even Photoshop has a way to save presets for this task tough.

Please note that the physical size is only hslf of what you need - you also have to care about a suitable ppi value.

So, this would require an action to automate generation of the photos, or are you suggesting doing it manually?
