GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 760394
Album art not shown (embedded & cover.jpg), instead shows album lyrics.jpg
Last modified: 2018-05-24 18:41:31 UTC
Created attachment 318652 [details] All details shown in screenshot, pretty much :) Album (download for $0, *no* credit card details etc. required): https://disparition.bandcamp.com/album/faite Bug: Rhythmbox doesn't show the album art when playing. Despite the existence of cover.jpg, and an embedded image in each FLAC file. Rhythmbox is preferring to show a thumbnail of the file "Disparition - FAITE - faite_lyrics.jpg". (Sorry, I didn't make the album :). See end for a full filename listing. I guess it thinks "Disparition - FAITE" matches the album name. However this is the wrong choice, because of the "lyrics" part... I would also suggest that "cover.jpg" be preferred over name matches. Because "cover.jpg" is the de-facto standard AFAICS. (Some software uses folder.jpg. However Windows will generate that file as a smallish image, overwriting it if it exists). My "cover.jpg" file is bigger than *lyrics.jpg in every respect. The embedded album art is smaller in every way except the width (700px, v.s. ~500px for lyrics.jpg). Full list of filenames: [alan@localhost Disparition - FAITE]$ ls cover.jpg Disparition - FAITE - 06 Oath.flac Disparition - FAITE - 01 Rise.flac Disparition - FAITE - 07 Remnants.flac Disparition - FAITE - 02 Strength.flac Disparition - FAITE - 08 Night.flac Disparition - FAITE - 03 Pull.flac Disparition - FAITE - 09 Fate.flac Disparition - FAITE - 04 Faith.flac Disparition - FAITE - 10 Drift.flac Disparition - FAITE - 05 Border.flac Disparition - FAITE - faite_lyrics.jpg
Sorry: my version is rhythmbox-3.2.1-3.fc23.x86_64
