Description Michael Catanzaro 2016-01-08 19:29:19 UTC
Epiphany (and I think also GNOME Builder) use an .osd progress bar in order to draw just the progress portion of the bar, without trough. Prior to 3.19, the non-progress portion of the bar was completely transparent. But now it is pure black, which looks bad.

just ftr, I don't think .osd is a great fit for this. Might be nicer to just style overlay > progressbar, or add a dedicated style class for it.

The style looks, theoretically, good

Either way works for us.

To be clear, we want a way to show the blue portion of the progress bar while leaving the rest transparent. Previously this was accomplished using .osd.

yeah I know, I'll try to figure out wassup asap
Comment 5 Lapo Calamandrei 2016-01-09 19:08:55 UTC
Michael, can you try with latest and greatest? This should be fixed now.
Comment 6 Michael Catanzaro 2016-01-09 23:42:01 UTC
Yeah, it's transparent now, thanks!

I wouldn't mention epiphany (or any particular applications) in the GTK+ docs though; never know when we might ditch the progress bar.

I think citing an example is the best thing to do there, maybe citing the version?
