GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 759853
Inkscape-based icon set and a dark theme (gtkrc file)
Last modified: 2016-01-10 02:02:34 UTC
Created attachment 317867 [details] this is a screenshot of my computer runing Gimp 2.92 on Elementary OS. hello, my name is Mannezik, and my mail mannezik@gmail.com. I made a new icon set (inkscape based) and a dark theme (gtkrc file).
Hi Mannezik, We have already started working on a dark theme, a light theme and possibly even intermediate themes. It is a work in progress by a single contributor right now and not yet a finished theme. So we would definitely welcome input and patches. You could either build GIMP from source or simply grab the gtkrc and ui/ folder and install these to ~/.config/GIMP/2.9/themes: https://git.gnome.org/browse/gimp/tree/themes/The-Dark-Side-of-Gimp As for the icons, we already have a new symbolic icon set based off the GNOME art-libre set: https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-icons/tree/master/art-libre-symbolic So I don't think we will start from scratch into a new official icon set. See bug 759673 for a list of missing icons. Feel free to propose any new icons following the current design style.
Closing as duplicate of bug 759649. You are still welcome to participate to the creation of the default theme and icon set, by checking out GIMP tree, and contributing patches to existing theme/icon. But we likely won't start anything from scratch at this point. :-) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 759649 ***
