Screenshot Mockup

Dear all,

I would like to share an idea with you that concerns the "Recently Used" function in the file choosing dialog.

I encounter myself frequently with the desire to open the source folder of a file directly from within the "Recently Used" list.

I have attached a screenshot mockup of how this feature implementation could look like.

My question to you as the developing community:

Do you consider this feature useful?

Is technically possible to implement?

Thankfully,

~ Robert

This functionality already exists. Use 'Visit file' from the context menu in recent files to go to the folder.

Dear Matthias,

I cannot see this context menu entry in the "Open File Dialog" on my Ubuntu 15.10 installation.

However, I do see an entry called "Open Item Location" under Recent of Nautilus file browser.

Warmly,

~ Robert

If you miss it in Ubuntu, you'll have to file a bug in their bug tracker.

Thank you Matthias!

I will file a bug in the Ubuntu bug tracker and reference back to this conversation.

Warmly,

~ Robert
