Description Simon Lambourn 2015-12-22 15:40:28 UTC
I may be doing this wrong but I can't get the latest build to install on ubuntu 15.10 x86_64.
I had to use ./configure without --enable-introspection as that also gave an error (just ./configure with no options)
make worked fine
[sudo] make install failed with the following message:
Package gobject-introspection-no-export-1.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.

I don't think I have a file (or package) called gobject-introspection-no-export-1.0.pc on my system.
Thanks in advance for any advice or workaround.

Libraries have been installed in:
   /usr/local/lib

If you ever happen to want to link against installed libraries
in a given directory, LIBDIR, you must either use libtool, and
specify the full pathname of the library, or use the `-LLIBDIR'
flag during linking and do at least one of the following:
   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_LIBRARY_PATH' environment variable
     during execution
   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_RUN_PATH' environment variable
     during linking
   - use the `-Wl,-rpath -Wl,LIBDIR' linker flag
   - have your system administrator add LIBDIR to `/etc/ld.so.conf'

See any operating system documentation about shared libraries for
more information, such as the ld(1) and ld.so(8) manual pages.

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gobject-introspection-no-export-1.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable

gobject-introspection-no-export-1.0 is in libgirepository1.0-dev, however it is unfortunate that you have to have that installed even if you don't want to compile against it
Comment 2 Simon Lambourn 2016-04-22 20:44:47 UTC
Aha! thank you. It was a while ago but I seem to recall I had trouble installing one of the other pre-requisites, maybe libgirepository1.0-dev?
Comment 3 Jens Georg 2016-04-29 21:32:51 UTC
Should be solved by using proper GObject-introspection automake integration
