The current .desktop has "OnlyShowIn=GNOME", but gnome-calendar is useful on other desktops as well. Is there any reason to restrict to GNOME only?
If you are not wanting to drop that restriction then could you add Unity to the list?

This limits the visibility of GNOME Calendar, which should
be usable in other desktop environments as well.
