Gimp 2.8.14 and now Gimp 2.8.16 crash at start (looks the screenshot). It has every time a problem with the fonts.

OS is Windows 8.1 with all updates.

No crash, Windows just tells you that it doesn't get any feedback from GIMP - and that is a known problem when the initial font cache is created. Just wait till it finishes.
