GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 758217
Relicense to LGPLv2.1+
Last modified: 2015-12-10 19:46:12 UTC
The gedit developers already agree to relicense the code to LGPLv2.1+. The gspell code comes from gedit, but GspellInlineCheckerGtv initially comes from GtkSpell (version 2.0.2), and GtkSpell was and is still licensed under the GPL. For GtkSpell 2.0.2, the copyright is: > Copyright 2002 - Evan Martin
Also, currently gspell-language.c is partly based on code taken from Epiphany, with the following copyright: > Copyright 2003, 2004 - Christian Persch But it is planned to remove the dependency to the libxml (see bug #757848), and use e.g. the code from GtkHtml, which is LGPLv2+: https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtkhtml/tree/components/editor/gtkhtml-spell-language.c
