I couldn't find a way to add repetitive events, like birthdays that repeat each year, or our monthly meetings.
Is this because there is no such feature there, or I couldn't find it how to?

There's not such a feature yet. We'll use this bug to track this feature.

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that this feature will be part of GNOME Calendar 3.26.
