AFAIK the whole idea of gnome-software is that you put some keyword and it will attempt to output data from its indexed data and share/showcase a program that you could install to do your bidding. 

Now I tried to enter the term 'blogging' just to test it and it entered it as 'blloogggiinng' .

Now before people say it might be a slow machine or the search responding slowly or that the typist maybe making mistake, none of the three scenarios work otherwise I would have had done something similar here. 

Look forward to some sort of resolution on the above.

The bug seems to have to do with xim, you can reproduce by doing GTK_IM_MODULE=xim gnome-software

Gnome-software 3.20.1 in Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 has still this issue.
I try to change Keyboard with Imput Method (different french keyboard) with no luck.
