Description Adrien Plazas 2015-10-14 07:33:33 UTC
I often accidentally press tab in Geary when I'm writing a email, expecting it to autocomplete the word for me.

Maybe we could have a dictionary based autocompletion like on smartphones?
Comment 1 Federico Bruni 2018-01-10 12:09:33 UTC
This is a feature that I would find useful only in devices without a real keyboard, such as smartphones, so for "mobile users". But as long as the autocompletion would appear only after clicking tab, then "desktop users" would not be distracted.

This may be possibly covered by an external editor (bug 714723).

Or better, by a general system application, such as this one (I didn't test it):

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
