GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 756472
Favorite Dash Icon not matching running apps
Last modified: 2017-08-18 21:53:56 UTC
Created attachment 313161 [details] Screenshot of desktop with Terminal Icons With Gnome 3.18 installed on Archlinux, I find that when I run with Gnome on Wayland, the Terminal application does not match the Icon that is favorited on the Dash. The Question Mark icon in the Dash is the listed as "gnome-terminal-server" where as the typical terminal from the Activities page is "Terminal" and shows the right icon.

What's the name of the .desktop file for Terminal in Archlinux? I'm afraid this was changed to support dbus activation but only Fedora carries the complete patch set (dbus activation was introduced to have terminal notifications). At least on Fedora, matching happens on gtk application id.
In #756727 I only run into that problem under wayland on Debian. X11 is fine. Could that be a different bug?
the name is gnome-terminal.desktop in archlinux. additionally the bug does not appear in archlinux with the fedora patches, so they seem to solve the problem
