Description wdunderwood 2002-03-19 18:45:21 UTC
Package: panel
Version: 1.4.0.4
Severity:

>Synopsis: Fatal error (segmentation fault)
>Class: sw-bug
System: RedHat 7.2 on Dell Inspiron 8000 w/ 512MB, P III @ 850 MHz

>Description:
When I open X-windows (startx) I get the message "Application "panel" (process 1138) has crashed due to a fatal error. (Segmentation fault)" Then "Please visit the GNOME Application Crash page for more information" (to get me here). I then get the option to "close" or "submit a bug report" (Of course, the process number is different each time.)

This happens occasionally (about 20% of the time I boot my laptop), but, once it starts, it does not stop. Sometimes rebooting does not help.

>How-To-Repeat:
Boot the system, login, and start X (startx).
