GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 754507
HTML 5 videos black screen and only sound working
Last modified: 2015-10-06 19:04:29 UTC
I received two feedbacks from Fedora 22 users about the following problem: HTML 5 videos with only sound working and black screen. That happened using different VGA (nVidia:nouveau and Intel) and different browsers (Firefox and Konqueror). Both users have all gstreamer plugins 0.x and 1.x installed, and now I provide gstreamer packages list and lspci of one of the two machines gstreamer-plugins-bad-free-0.10.23-24.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-good-extras-1.4.5-3.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.36-12.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer1-1.4.5-1.fc22.i686 gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.19-18.fc22.x86_64 libnice-gstreamer1-0.1.13-1.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer-ffmpeg-0.10.13-15.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free-1.4.5-3.fc22.x86_64 phonon-backend-gstreamer-4.8.2-3.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer-tools-0.10.36-11.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld-1.4.5-2.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer-0.10.36-11.fc22.x86_64 gstreamer-0.10.36-11.fc22.i686 PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin-1.0.6-6.fc22.x86_64 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 21f7 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 28 Memory at f0000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M] Memory at e0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] I/O ports at 4000 [size=64] Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] Capabilities: [90] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit- Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [a4] PCI Advanced Features Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915
Downstream bugreport https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1259669
What is the URL of the video? Does it work with gst-play-1.0 ? Could you provide a (compressed) GST_DEBUG=*:6 log of the first few seconds of playback please?
To be fair, I would prefer if this get first sorted on the distribution bug (which is downstream by the way). The reported bug on bugs.redhat.com is incomplete. We don't even know if this is in WebKit or Firefox. Also, we have a list of GStreamer 0.10 version, which are completely useless.
It's a problem of gstreamer1-vaapi. Opening an appropriate bugreport
