Description chrysn 2015-08-13 10:15:50 UTC
It would be quite useful to me to be able to specify the character to initially jump to on the command line, as in `gucharmap ☃`. gucharmap should take all the non-option arguments and treat them as if they were entered into the search field, the search were executed and the search window closed again.

Use cases include both manual starting ("where's that snowman sign ... let's see ... `gucharmap snowman`) and for automation ("i'm often wondering which funny characters people send in chats, i'll bind some key to `gucharmap "$(xsel -p)"`").
