Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-core Severity: normal Version: 1.4.0.6 Synopsis: Gnome-terminal crashes on startup Bugzilla-Product: gnome-core Bugzilla-Component: gnome-terminal Description: I run Solaris, and just updated a bunch of gnome utilities (including gnome-core, and gnome-util(?) among other packages. I start up gnome-terminal, either from the Programs menu, from a regular Xterm or from the run dialogue, and it crashes. When gnome-terminal pops up, it is very small (I don't know pixel size, but it is 1cm wide by 2 cm tall), way too small, and then the crash dialogue appears. ---- When running from a regular Xterm , I get these warnings, but no errors: muir[~]% gnome-terminal Gdk-WARNING **: Missing charsets in FontSet creation Gdk-WARNING **: ISO8859-15 Gdk-WARNING **: Missing charsets in FontSet creation Gdk-WARNING **: ISO8859-15 Gdk-WARNING **: Missing charsets in FontSet creation Gdk-WARNING **: ISO8859-15 GnomeUI-WARNING **: Could not open help topics file NULL Debugging Information: 0xfe89b454 in _libc_waitid ()

Which version of gnome-libs are you using? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 17440 ***
I recently used red-carpet to install gnome-libs-1.4.1.4-1.ximian.3 . The problems started after that.
