GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 752845
Non-alphanumeric characters in Markdown links don't work properly
Last modified: 2015-12-30 10:20:02 UTC
This is a more general version of ticket #731509. Markdown-style links generally ignore (or misinterpret) any extra markdown formatting. For example, each of the following should create an italicized link: ``` *[text](link)* [*text*](link) [text *text*](link) [_text_](link) ``` Instead, the output from all of these preserves the * characters, and is not italic. The linking behaviour does work. Additionally, non-special non-alphanumeric characters also seem to mess up the Markdown link formatting. Consider the following: ["AAAAA" BBBB](link) One would expect this to create a link whose text is: "AAAAA" BBBB Instead, quite curiously, it creates a link whose text is: linkAAAAA" BBBB" ...where "link" is the title of the linked page, and is a hyperlink. The following text (AAAAA" BBBB") is not a part of the hyperlink.
Confirmed. Should be fixed in the next GIT update.
