GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 752280
[wayland] clipboard does not work
Last modified: 2015-10-02 13:55:22 UTC
Created attachment 307305 [details] backtrace of `gedit --g-fatal-warnings` I am running gedit-3.16.2-1.fc22 under gnome-shell wayland session on Fedora 22. When copying text from another application (e.g. evolution, gnome-terminal, firefox, geany) gedit is unable to paste it. Instead I see this error in syslog: org.gnome.gedit[1565]: (gedit:6386): Gdk-WARNING **: gdkselection-wayland.c:236: error reading selection buffer: Vorgang wurde abgebrochen at the exact time I copy (!) some text. I ran gedit with --g-fatal-warnings and attached a backtrace. I know that gtk2 <-> gtk3 clipboard management is currently broken in 3.16, but this is a separate issue since it affects gtk3 <-> gedit. Additional info: gtk3-3.16.5-1.fc22 gnome-shell-3.16.3-1.fc22 gnome-settings-daemon-3.16.2-1.fc22
You can try again with Fedora 23, I think it is fixed. Anyway, this kind of problem with Wayland comes most probably from GTK+.
Yes, you are right, this issue is fixed in F23 / Gnome 3.18.
