Description phoenix 2015-07-05 14:19:59 UTC
OS: Fedora 22

Problem with:Snaptool-gtk version (backup tool)

Exceptions:User Selected Theme(specifically numix theme) remains intact

When Snaptool-gtk is used to backup the current packages and repositories ,gnome shell crashes and all the settings done with gnome-tweak-tool revert to original values except the user selected theme.

Please provide a stacktrace of the crash.
Comment 2 phoenix 2015-07-16 12:19:43 UTC
i have been trying to use strace for this problem but it is generating files as big as 3 mbs before a crash

Also:
The crash is certain to happen if the gsnap tool is run as root whereas if it is run as a normal user ,it may crash or may just get stuck at "Creating Snapshot"

Here is the full trace using strace tool on gsnap.
Comment 4 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 14:11:10 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
