patch

This was discussed here:
https://mail.gnome.org/archives/geary-list/2015-June/msg00002.html

I think that the Archive icon on the top right should not have the text Archive (as the trash icon on its right does not have any text), to be consistent also with the rest of buttons.
A tooltip is enough for new users. And as you get used to the application, you can immediately associate visually the archive icon with the archive folder.

Reply by Robert:

"I believe the reason for the current situation is the worry that the Archive icon is not particularly self-explanatory (and probably never will be). While the tooltip does help, my experience suggests that relying on a tooltip to explain functionality is foolish. We just went through a brouhaha on bugzilla in part because we relegated important info in the preferences dialog to a tooltip.

That's not to say we shouldn't do this, though. We're clearly relying on the user being able to figure out a lot on their own, and this wouldn't be that much of a stretch. The best thing to do would be to file a bug on bugzilla.gnome and attach your patch, so we don't lose it. "

Thanks.

Open question: Was there any reason beyond potential confusion for putting this text in the the archive button? I notice that we use the same icon for the Archive folder. While it's probably too much to ask that the user immediately recognizes this and figures it out, it may seem into their brain eventually.

Let me add that also Gmail, both web and mobile clients, uses only icons for the most common actions (archive, delete).
As far as I can see, also Yahoo:

This is to say that people can get used to it.

Resolving this as a duplicate of Bug 789078 it is part of that broader design work.
