I have double click set to "Toggle Shade", older style windows work with this but not CSD.

It would be useful if CSD windows would roll-up, the easiest way would be if they just displayed the window controls and not the other CSDs.

OTOH - I guess there is a case for presenting some controls (in Winamp, you used to be able to roll up the window, but still have play controls).

Here is a screenshot of Winamp with it's window shaded - probably one of the first widely used CSD apps on Windows:
