GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 749250
Support to customizable keyboard shortcuts
Last modified: 2018-06-03 17:24:30 UTC
Please add the support for custom keyboard shortcuts just like it previously had using nautilus/accels file. I guess 3.16 removed support for it.
Please provide specific and clear use cases when filing feature requests. We do not support stuff for the sake of reporting stuff because supporting stuff has maintenance costs.
A config files where users can redefine keyboard shortcuts. For example, I would like backspace key for navigating to previous folder. I would like to change the current shortcut or add new shortcut for back navigation. It was available in previous versions of nautilus. The file was ~/.config/nautilus/accels . But the support of custom shortcuts are dropped in nautilus 3.16. Thank you
Please provide us with nautilus shortcuts options, a way to have the backspace key back to go up. Like the nautilus_backspace you can find at https://github.com/riclc/nautilus_backspace. This are just choices we should, as users, have the liberty and ease to implement an option to better accommodate our workflow. Thank you for the hard work and keep it up.
