Description Bastián Díaz 2015-04-22 04:12:05 UTC
fedora 22 Rawhide
gnome 3.16.1

Doing a search, seems to be a known problem, however this situation is particular.

I think it is important that the bluetooth sharing option is always visible on the sharing settings. When trying to send a file via bluetooth from your mobile device, I said there was an error sending.

Reviewing again sharing options, I realized that was available configuration options bluetooth and I could receive my files.

I believe that options should always be available, regardless if the bluetooth is on / off. In the case of not having hardware, the option should not be selectable.
To facilitate the search for users unfamiliar with the system, there should be a link to the sharing options from the bluetooth panel.

Thanks

I agree that we should always show the bluetooth options when there is bluetooth hardware present. If bluetooth is disable for some reason (due to the use of a hardware switch, or airplane mode, for instance) the setting should be visible but indicate that they are disabled. Ideally, they would also show how enable them again.

A similar treatment to some of the other settings for airplane mode would make sense.

This would prevent confusion - "why isn't by Bluetooth working?", and so on.

The configuration for receiving files via Bluetooth will be in the Bluetooth panel soon, and you'll only see the configuration if you have Bluetooth turned on. Which is good, because that's what the only switch there will be able to turn on.
