GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 748133
add event: start date should be current, not the first of current month
Last modified: 2017-04-17 18:20:40 UTC
While adding new event, the start date is set to the first of the current month, and the end date to the last date of the current month. For example, if I am adding an event on 19th April, the start date of the event should be set to 19th April, not 1st April. People rarely add past events to the calendar. Similarly, we should set the end date to current date too. User can change the dates accordingly on his own.
Which view are you using? How did you added the event? Which distribution are you using? Please provide a bit of context so we can confirm and fix the bug.

Sorry, I didn't add this to my earlier comment. I am working in Year view currently, and this bug is only reproducible in Year view. I hope this is what you meant by 'View'
One more observation I just made. This bug is also not reproducible in Year view when one clicks on 'Add event' button in bottom of the screen. Its only reproducible when on clicks on 'Add event' from settings menu in top right corner.
