I think it might be an issue with mark-location in adwaita-icon-theme.

to draw it also in 256x256, it only has 16x16 to 48x48 right now.

I've pushed the 512x512 variant in, although in future I think we're likely to drop the hight res action and status icons and only ship device and mimetype icons as per the guidelines. I'd recommend using graphical assets for things like this, rather than icons.
