GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 747063
Dump files generation makes Shotwell 0.20.2 freeze
Last modified: 2018-02-16 14:23:46 UTC
Hi, Juste after starting Shotwell 0.20.2 (under Fedora21 GNOME), Shotwell freeze, is very VERY slow to display any photo or video, makes my laptop sounds like a 747 takeoff and (after a few minutes), my HDD (with 15GB free space) is FULL !! It seems that a LOT of dump files are generated under /var/lib/systemd/coredump :
# cd coredump/ # ll total 8240 -rw-r-----+ 1 root root 4195004 21 mars 00:09 core.shotwell-video-.1000.afe9209c5d6b42f69f55ad28336f7eca.2799.1426892947000000.xz -rw-r-----+ 1 root root 4229908 21 mars 00:09 core.shotwell-video-.1000.afe9209c5d6b42f69f55ad28336f7eca.2882.1426892953000000.xz
Once my HDD is full, no other apps works until I delete these dump manually (as root)...
Does this still happen? The video thumbnailer was reworked to be less fragile in 0.22.
