Description Debarshi Ray 2015-03-12 16:47:22 UTC
Facebook has dropped support for XMPP in version 2.0 of the Graph API, and there is no known alternative for this. Therefore, don't pick up Facebook accounts from GOA.

Also see bug 745004 , where we stopped advertising chat support for Facebook GOA accounts.

From #empathy on GIMPNet:

17:01 <rishi> cassidy: ^^
17:02 <xclaesse> rishi, do we have a strategy to tell the user? or are we just
      silently deleting their accouts?
17:02 <rishi> xclaesse: No. We don't show the account any more.
17:03 <rishi> We did the same when Microsoft shutdown their servers.
17:04 <xclaesse> would be nice to have a way to notify user, but tbh I don't
care enough to write it myself :)
17:04 <rishi> Neither do I. :)
17:06 <xclaesse> rishi, ok, so your patch is fine then :P
