Description Justin W. Flory 2015-03-10 21:06:04 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Whenever I am importing a CD into my library, there is the option to edit the information (song, artist, sort order, year, etc.) in the menu. However, when I change data in there, it reflects it on the CD page below, but upon actual importing into the library, any of changes are not there.

This has been especially problematic with the year, as even when that data is provided from Gracenote, it will not import the year into my library, at all.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Insert CD, change some data (e.g. year and genre), import to library
2. View file properties in library after import, manually correct
3.

Actual results: Modifications to album data before importing is not carried over after importing.

Expected results: Modifications made to album data before importing should be carried over after importing.

Build Date & Hardware: 3.1-1.fc21 on Fedora 21, kernel 3.18.7-200.fc21.x86_64

Additional Builds and Platforms: N/A

Does this happen every time? Yes for changes I make; however, for things like the year, this always never imports correctly (always is "Unknown" in library)

similar problem here with version 3.4.1 on Fedora 26

whenever i import a CD all CD infos are displayed in the import screen properly, like described from the TO. The CD is imported without all those infos. It just shows: 01Track.flac / unknown Artist / unknown Album etc.

this happens when i use FLAC, curiously not when i import as m4a-aac. But all files imported as aac cannot be edited later, only the flac files can be editet

FLAC issue is addressed in bug 789946.

About issue with aac editing, I guess that there is no gstreamer tag element provided currently for aac, which is the same for opus, I guess ? Need to check. Either case, please open a separate bug for that.

The original issue in "bug description" is not reproducible, and hence should probably be closed.

i use EasyTag since i came over this bug. There i can edit flac and aac files properly. So maybe not a gstreamer element missing?
