GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 74552
Drag and drop into Mozilla always fails
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When I drag an item into a Mozilla window from the desktop, nothing happens. If I don't run into Bug 77461, that is, which may or may not be related. Expected behavior: HTML and images, at the very least, ought to be displayed in the browser. See also: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74461
This is fixed on 1.1.11. Closing. Aarson, reopen if I'm missing a test case.
Hmmm, well, it doesn't work for me. :( I'm using: nautilus2-1.1.11.0.200204010939-0.snap.ximian.1 mozilla-0.9.9-1.ximian.3 I can't make any of this work: no pngs, no gifs, no html pages, will render when dragged from the desktop or a nautilus window into a mozilla window.

My bug was marked a duplicate of this, but I was dragging from Galeon on to the nautilus desktop. Nothing occured unless I was dragging a local file link. In which case, it would copy the file to the desktop. Nautilus version: 1.0.6 from Debian testing.
two questions: 1) Has this ever worked? 2) Do we have any reason to think that mozilla and/or galeon /accept/ such a drag?

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to drag-and-drop, but given that it is possible to drag URLs between different instances of Mozilla (or between Firebird and Epiphany for example) shouldn't dragging of desktop-files with Type=Link work if the type of the dragged item is changed back to what it was when it was originally dragged to the desktop?
it looks like this bug is fixed. every file i drag into a mozilla (firebird) window gets displayed. checked with html, images and text files. maybe close the bug?
I can't get mozilla to show anything here. I managed to get it to accept a png image once, but failed to reproduce it afterwards. I'm using the fedora core 1 packages.
I beleive this was a mozilla bug. It's good with nautilus 2.4/2.5 and mozilla 1.6.
