The symbolics icons are badly rendered. In the screenshot attached below you can see it in system-search-symbolic and edit-clear-symbolic.

I checked if it was the icon but the same file (/opt/gnome/share/icons/Adwaita/scalable/actions/system-search-symbolic.svg) looks good with eog 3.14.
This is not happening with regular png icons.

I'm not sure this is a Gtk+ plus bug, but I can find no other place to start. I'm filling the bug here, and you'll move it down to where it belongs.

I'm getting this with master from jhbuild at commit 761c7811685387ac51b579d1765eb6f8fb91c461. I've tested building at commit e7a2fc2d0184bb7e5b37c61c9787b6ae64efb532 and the problem persist.
Also, in case it has something to do, which I guess it has, librsvg is built at commit 191405182e985e1745a5e5a70e2579f2bed897fb

I'm using Archlinux, updated to last week. Relevants packages are:
+ xorg-server 1.16.3-2
+ nvidia-340xx 340.65-9

unlikely to be the fault of GTK+. I would look at your graphics driver.

It worked properly with 3.15.7 and I haven't updated my system ever since. It broke on Saturday, but I updated my jhbuild environment complete so don't know pretty sure who's at fault.

Lately, librsvg has gotten a bunch of fixes. I'm not entirely confident that librsvg's has tests capable of catching proper rendering regressions. Can you check if that's the cause of the changes, by going back to the 2.40.6 tag?

It was, took a time to find out. The icons of adwaita-icon-theme were wrongly generated.
Comment 5 Erick Perez Castellanos 2015-02-25 15:48:20 UTC
This happens with version 2.40.7 and not 2.40.6.

Broken 'clear' icon in textbox

Happens on librsvg 2.40.7-4-g191405182e985e1745a5e5a70e2579f2bed897fb, continuous image 20150226.42. Adwaita icons were rebuilt
Comment 7 Federico Mena Quintero 2015-02-26 22:13:55 UTC
Thanks for investigating this, Erick :) Christian Persch managed to find the offending commit and filed another bug, so I'll mark this one as a duplicate.

For clarity - 2.40.7 is fine; it is commit 0c98142e31 that was the culprit, after 2.40.7.
