I guess it is obvious that this is not my real wallpaper.

Since gnome 3.14 the wallpaper gets replaced by a grainy mess after waking up from suspend. This has not been the case with 3.13. The system thereby does not log any exceptionally entries. However I only checked the sytem log!

That looks like a graphics driver issue to me. In any case, gnome-session is not involved in drawing the background, so moving this to gnome-shell.

If you're not using the nvidia binary driver feel free to re-open.
