Proposed patch to force the creation of a symbolic link during installation

The installer should force the creation of a symbolic link for the application binary (see attached patch).

The patch should be recreated as it cannot be shipped as it is (Makefile is recreated each time by the configure script).

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed in the code repository.
