GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 744220
Wrong annotation position on cropped page
Last modified: 2017-10-02 13:56:25 UTC
Using Evince 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.8 on ubuntu 12.04 An annotation is positioned incorrect if you try to annotate on a cropped page. 1. place a first annotation on an uncropped page, position is ok 2. save the document 3. crop the page with the annotation (I used PDFShuffler) by 10 % from every side and save the result 4. load the cropped document into Evince, the first annotation is shown correctly 5. add a second annotation onto the cropped page : the icon marking this second annotation pops up at a wrong position The first annotation stays on its correct position when a page is cropped, so cropping annotated pages workes fine. The opposite way, annotating cropped pages does not. In the actual version of Evince for Ubuntu 12.04 there is no way to delete an annotation or to fine tune its initial position. At this state the usability of this feature is very small.

Similar issue here. Ubuntu 16.04, Evince 3.18.2. The text-highlight annotation does not work well if the paper size is not A4 (I found others on the web with the same issue when the paper is not Letter). The highlighting is applied on the correct line if the paper size is A4, otherwise it appears further down, at a sort of random position.
