GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 743872
dirdiff behaves inconsistently with filediff when comparing line endings
Last modified: 2015-02-02 21:19:29 UTC
dirdiff will report two files as *different*, while filediff reports "Files are identical". To reproduce: * Populate an empty directory with a single text file with Unix-style line endings. * Make a copy of this directory, which in turn also makes a copy of the text file. * In one of the two identical files, change one of the line endings to a Windows-style line ending. * Use Meld dirdiff to compare the two directories Observe: Dirdiff reports that the files are different. Double-clicking either file opens filediff, which reports that the files are idenitcal.
