Description John C. frickson 2015-01-27 15:53:47 UTC
tracker-extract gets to about 1% complete when I receive the following messages:

   (tracker-extract:25773): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_mini_object_make_writable:  assertion 'mini_object != NULL' failed
   Segmentation fault

It doesn't say what file it's having trouble with, then seg faults.

Thanks for the bug report, but we need a bit more information to do anything about that.

Martyn, perhaps you could advise the reporter how he can figure out what file causes the problem (assuming it's reproducible).

What version of GStreamer is this with?

Indeed. As usual, the way to collect debug information is detailed here:
https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Tracker/Documentation/Debugging

I've just updated that Wiki page too - so it should be accurate enough.

This should clear up which file it is and then one should be able to reproduce using:

  $ /usr/libexec/tracker-extract -v 3 -f /path/to/file.ext
  ...

About that and the version of Tracker, I need info from the reporter too.
