Since commit 1b921c629cb7a5a104afb577d3fd6f56d20b5932, libnotify was mandatory, so the additional checks for notify_notification_new_with_status_icon (as it is included in the 0.7.0 version of libnotify that is required) are unnecessary. Additionally, the summary for libnotify at the end of configure.ac is not printed (as with_libnotify is never set).

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
